The Evoque caters to a decidedly more eco-conscious customer base given its interior surfaces are made from wool blends, artificial suede, recycled materials and even eucalyptus. Even so, the Evoque still possesses the credibility to keep up with the traditional German titans of luxury. Styling is edgy and aggressive, but it's still a Range Rover with classic styling touches at the headlamps, grille and tail lamps. A 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine provides the power for the Evoque. In the base model, it makes 246 horsepower, while in the R-Dynamic, the engine is mated with a 48-volt mild hybrid setup that helps it put out 296 horsepower, while achieving 21 mpg city and 26mpg highway -- more than anything else in the Range Rover stable. The drivetrains can propel the Evoque from 0-60 mph in 7 seconds flat for the base model and in 6.3 seconds for the hybrid. A 9-speed automatic is the only available transmission, coupled to a Haldex full-time all-wheel-drive system. Terrain Response 2, Range Rover's sophisticated traction-management system, allows for five driver-selectable modes designed to give the Evoque more capability off-road. Whether it's over rocks, through bodies of water or up and over just about any hill the Evoque can conquer just about anything you can throw at it. Standard features on the base Evoque include a lip spoiler, LED head and brake lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a new Touch Pro Duo digital infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 10-way power leather seats, front and rear park distance control, proximity key ignition and dual-zone climate control. The Evoque SE Premium package adds 20-inch wheels, High-Beam assist with automatic headlight leveling, a powered tailgate, 14-way power front seats with memory, a 12.3-inch Interactive driver display gauge cluster, and an intuitive Parking Assist package. The Evoque HSE adds a Clearsight interior rearview mirror, powered gesture tailgate, keyless entry, 16-way power front seats, a Meridian audio system, Rain-sensing wipers, Signature Hi-Line taillights, front fog lights and auto-dimming power heated door mirrors with memory and built in puddle lamps. An available Cold Climate Package includes a heated steering wheel, heated windshield, heated washer jets and heated front and rear seats. Evoques also feature an optional Adaptive Dynamics active suspension system that reduces body roll and improves handling by monitoring road conditions and adjusting the dampers to improve ride quality. A standard Driveline Disconnect system, automatically switches between two and all-wheel drive to reduce drag and maximize fuel efficiency when conditions allow. An optional Active Driveline system uses electronic torque vectoring to constantly balance the distribution of torque between the front and rear axles for added grip while cornering. Safety features include anti-lock brakes, an anti-skid system, traction control, side curtain airbags and front-side airbags, with optional safety systems like blind spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist and a heads-up driver display.
